OK, as in any merger I have mixed feelings about it. It certainly has positive potential.

For me personally, the chess news aspect is of secondary concern and importance. There are many good chess news outlets available. Of course CV is an excellent news site, but hardly unique.

No, the one thing I particularly want to plead is to absolutely continue the CVO and CVT letters in some fashion!

Maybe even combine the two into one weekly or bi-weekly training letter. They are high quality publications at present, with excellent contributors. Their format is simply excellent and they are quite a unique product, more so than the news in any case (just my opinion). I really do want to lose CVO and CVT!

Now I read there is something in the works (Masters Bulletin?), so there is hope. However, I would expect the CVT and CVO subscriber base to be extremely loyal to these services, and disappointing them is a definitely a potential screw-up source...

    Thank you

Chess Vibes Opening is a very good (weekly) work by IM Merijn van Delft & IM Robert Ris and Chess.Vibes Training is a weekly Trainings-Magazine by GM Gawain Jones, GM Erwin l'Ami, GM Robin van Kampen, IM Irina Krush, IM Merijn van Delft, IM Arthur van de Oudeweetering and IM Robert Ris and its very helpful (IMHO).

I am courios how Chess.coms MasterBulletin is.

I visited ChessVibes for the first time because of this news. It seems to be mainly the work of one person, Peter Doggers, and is an awesome site. I have used for current news but I will keep my eye on this to see if it beats ChessBase. Mainly I want to know about something when it happens. Not just after someone writes an article after it happens. I felt Chessbase was very good at getting news out quickly and with a great format, and decent writing/pics. If I repeatedly go to a site, the odds increase I will buy something. Chessbase has great video presentations, so the news site is a portal to their store.  ChessVibes store links to NewInChess store. Hmm, does have a competitive store? I don't see leaving that link to NIC??

Good luck - Chess news is getting more competitive and that's good for all of us (Chess players)!
