Carlsen and Aronian are the main contenders

Carlsen's picture just says "negative"...as if he was up all night, just jumped into his clothes without even combing his hair...he needs a PR person to help him play the part of a winner. Endorsements and advertising dollars go to the camera ready type, not necessarily the winner...but rather those that portray winning characters. Might also be because of a "bad picture", but everyone else looks polished.

Carlsen. Why oh why isn't he the thinking woman's sex symbol?

Stuff Daniel Radcliffe or the Old Spice guy on the horse. With the right media management, Magnus Carlsen would have fifty ladies running after him down the street.

In the announcement with the pictures and brief stories for each candidate a couple of days ago here on chess.com, only Carlsen and Gelfand were cleanly shaved.  Now there's only Gelfand left who apparently still likes to shave regularly. Wink
